Why admissions process support?

The process of applying to high school or college can be daunting for anyone; even the most highly motivated and organized students can benefit from a skilled writing coach. I help students with everything from essay topic brainstorming to revision and editing of their drafts. Most importantly, I give honest feedback while championing students’ ideas and encouraging their “small wins” along the way.

High School Application Support

The process of applying to high school can be overwhelming for eighth graders. I can help with any and all of the following:

  • The high school essay

  • Short answer responses

  • Organization (keeping track of drafts and deadlines)

College Application Support

I have experience helping high school students achieve success on the following:

  • The college essay

  • Short answer responses

  • SAT Reading and Writing & Language Sections

  • AP English Language and Composition Exam


Each session includes a one hour zoom meeting* plus 30 minutes of substantive, detailed feedback once the student has made revisions.

*In person sessions are possible, but limited in availability and dependent on logistics.
